Rome, North Italy. Au-pair needed for one child, Maya aged 8. She goes to school from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm. Twice a week school finishes at 4.30 pm. May does extra after school activities such as sport and swimming. Religion: R/C. Dad manages a beach club, mum is a journalist. The family speak Spanish, English and of course Italian. Mum speaks English very well and lived in New York for 15 years. The family live in the center of Rome. Lots of public transport available nearby. They spend the summer in San Felice Circeo a nice beach resort. Accommodation: sole use of a separate apartment with private bedroom and private bathroom. The apartment is located in the same building as the family's home on the same floor. Other help kept: a cleaning lady once a week for all the housework. Requirements: Non-Smoker/English Mother Tongue/Driver Use of internet given. Minimum 6 month placement. Approx hrs of work: 3.30 pm to 8.00 pm. Total daily hrs: 5. Time off: Weekends including evenings and another 3 evenings off per week. You are asked to babysit for a maximum of 2 evenings a week. Duties: Taking care of Maya. Picking her up from school, taking her to activities and play dates, helping her with her homework, keeping her bedroom tidy and her toys organized together with her. Taking care of her school uniform. Ironing once a week. Playing with Maya and doing sport activities with her. Salary: € 150.00 p/w, net (around 120.00 p/w, at the current rate of exchange.). During the summer the salary would be £ 175.00 p/w (around £ 135.00 p/w, at the current rate of exchange). Family's interests: The family is happy and easy going. They love sport, travel, reading, the arts and parties. Mum is a reporter for Rai, the Italian national TV and dad runs a beach club with many fun activities. Both parents are scuba diving instructors. The family go on holiday in the summer to San Felice Circeo which is a beach resort and in the winter they go to Mexico and a week skiing but you would not be asked to go with them on their winter holidays. The family have a cat and may get a dog in the future. Rome is the capital of Italy and needs no introduction. There is an ever ending list of things to see and do in Rome and the surrounding area is also very interesting from the beach to Naples, to the Amalfi coast, Sorrento, the island of Capri and Pompeii. There is a large international community in Rome and there are other au-pairs working in the area. The ideal candidate is very active and loves sports. A great position to experience the Italian culture in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and lots of free time which will give you the opportunity to persue stuides in Italian or supplement your income by giving English lessons. |
